Since it’s Halloween, I thought I would add one of my favorite all time horror novels, IT. Stephen King is a favorite of mine (especially some of his newer works) but this is definitely an oldie but goody for me! What’s more terrifying than facing your worst fears, and fighting for the greater good up against “everything you ever were afraid of”?
Seven “outcast” kids come together one sumer in a small town plagued by mysterious murders and disappearances, only to face the proverbial monster in the closet- and win. Twenty seven years later, IT has come back, for them, and they must reunite and relive the terror of a summer all but one has forgotten.
From class bullies, family issues and the angst of first puppy loves, King pulls off the wonders of childhood friendships as well as he does the horrors of a town fighting for its very existence against a secret as old as time.
If you’ve not read IT, I suggest you nab a copy, and kick back for a read you won’t be able to put down. But, be prepared- you may be sleeping with the lights on for quite some time afterward!
