Born Standing Up

Steve Martin is a surprisingly good writer – since reading Shopgirl, I’ve preferred Steve Martin, the writer, to Steve Martin, the comedian. But his new memoir Born Standing Up helped me to appreciate his comedy and his hard work. The book is the perfect marriage between his two talents – writing and humor.
