24/7 with... with Roxanne Walker Cordonier

Portrait of
Susie Wallace

My passion:  My husband Alan and my son Ben.

My favorite possession:
My grandmother's engagement ring

My hometown: Marshall, Michigan

I’m thinking about: Feminism. I was raised by parents who believed in gender and racial equality and led by example. Picking rocks, shoveling corn and driving a tractor alongside my two older brothers taught me the value of hard work and set me on a path to succeed in a male dominated world.

Words I live by:
Lead, Follow or Get out of the way!

I can’t live without: Reading

I am most proud of:
My solid marriage and my son.

What keeps me awake at night:
The war in Iraq.

One thing I never want to do again:
Stay in a job I hated working for people I didn't respect for the money.

If I could be totally wild, I would: Sell most everything, buy a sailboat and set sail with my husband going where ever the wind leads us.

I am guilty of: Being bossy, opinionated and controlling!

Right now I’m reading:The Commission The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation by Philip Shenon and Musical Muse by Arthur McMaster

The nickname I wish I had:
I like the one I have--Rox

My theme song:
Born to be Wild

The food I could eat every day:
Homemade Mac & Cheese--Southern Style if you please.

My blog: www.roxannewalker.com "Dispatches from the Deep South"

The most important thing I ever lost: An antique green glass ice bucket my grandmother gave me. (someone stole it)

My best friend says I am: Funny and brutally honest.

I still can’t get the hang of: Dancing Think Elaine on Seinfeld!

The world would be a better place, if only: People were nicer to one another and lived their faith instead of just talking about it.

I’d like to learn to: create stained glass.

Something most people don’t know about me:
I'm a great cook, can my own jam and used to knit, crochet and do all kinds of crafts.

My mother always said: If you get everything now, what will you have to look forward to?

The worst idea I’ve ever had: Marrying my first two husbands.

The smartest woman I know: Judge Aphrodite Konduros and the kindest!

My first job: Coat check girl at Win Schuler's Restaurant in Marshall, MI.

What are you most vain about?
My personal appearance and hair.

Whose diary would you most like to read? Jackie Kennedy Onassis

What do you fear the most?
ALS or some other horrible disease striking my family or myself.

Best one-liner you ever heard:
Coffee Shop in San Francisco, "I'm a zen kind of a chick."

Always...
be kind

Never...Forget to tell people you love them and don't hold a grudge.

I wish…I could be kinder to myself and more forgiving of others.

Gee, I had no idea Roxanne is on her third husband. Maybe that's because she freely admits here that she's "bossy, opinionated and controlling!" Yeeesch! Roxanne's least favorite fan, Larry
