I am a Feminist because…

“…I want to set the example for my daughter that success and empowerment are achieved through hard work, determination and dedication. Being a single mom and having Multiple Sclerosis give me a full plate, but I never want my daughter to think that an obstacle is a setback. It’s just a detour that gives life a scenic route.”

Kristi teaches fifth grade at Bell’s Crossing Elementary. Her daughter, Sarah-Parker, is autistic. On weekends, you can find them enjoying their loving and strong mother-daughter bond at the gym, at the zoo, shopping or hitting golf balls at the driving range. Kristi also loves to sing to her daughter. “It makes me happy.”
