I am a Feminist because…

“…my life’s work is empowering women living in extreme poverty through my nonprofit giving circle, Dining for Women. I believe that all women deserve to be self-sufficient and that by empowering even one woman we have an impact. Empowering women is the best way to change the world.”

Marsha is the president and founder of the now-nationwide organization. She recently traveled to India to visit some of the women she and friends have helped through their work. Her photograph is a metaphor about the fact that in the act of giving or donating, there is the flip-side of assuming the role of the supplicant (one who humbly asks).
